Default Rental house/H21-100 questions

I will be renting a lake house for the next couple of months. This property is within about 20 miles of our house, and has a DirecTv Slimline dish currently installed, and the dish has a single coax coming in to the building. I would like to take one of my H21-100 receivers there to use during the times we will be staying there. The dish is mounted on the roof of the building, and I am having trouble identifying which dish I am connected to.

The dish I have at home does not use any type of power inserter, and has two cables coming in, one goes to each receiver through B band converters.

I had a difficult time getting the receiver to work at all, but when I configured it for dish type 17, it began to show signs of life. Running a signal strength check, about 25% of the transponders show 0 for signal strength, and about 75% are at 95 or above.

The receiver finally completed checkout and down loading of the initial guide info, and does work, but about every three seconds it displays a 771 error, and sometimes a 775 error.

Does this look like a dish alignment issue, or something equipment related? I have tried the setup at the rental house with and without the B band converter, and it makes no difference at all.

Any help or ideas appreciated! TIA!

Looks to me like this is an SWM dish, and so it needs a power inserter. No BBC needed. The random operation is because the reciver does generate some power, just not enough for the LNB to operate correctly.

Thanks for your response. I came to the same conclusion after thinking about the circumstances for a while, and have a power inserter ordered, and it should arrive today. Next weekend, hopefully I will be able to get this working. Thanks again!
