Default DirectTv vs Dishnetwork

Hi everyone

I am considering leaving DNW and getting DirectTv
I've been having billing issues with dish for almost a year and have finally gotten tired of the bullsh*t with them.

Is there a picture difference between the two satellite providers?

If there is then I will go with the local Charter Cable company since they have gotten into my neighborhood.

All replies will be appreciated.

thanks

Boss.

If there are any differences the general opinion seems to be DirecTV is marginally better than Dish. But YMMV.
Your local cable company may or may not be better PQ than Dish, only someone local to you can help you with that.

ive had both. one of the things i liked about dish dvr is that you can set a auto - reminder to channel you want to watch, or, its been so long, you can have the dvr set to automatically switch to the channel you want to watch. cant do that with the genie, or any other direct dvr. dont understand that missing on direct dvr's. after all dish has it that feature for many many years. now direct has that feature on there non-dvr's. neg about dish, well after being with them for 8 years and asking what they would do to keep me as a customer, they said = NOTHING. so i switched to direct, happy i did it. direct has bent over back wards for me. the thing i dont like about direct = constant adds for = rent this movie, rent this event and more adds to get you to rent something. but you get use to it. so im staying with direct.

There ain't no Pac 12 on DTV and hasn't been for the last 2 years. That's the main reason I switched to Dish.

One thing DTV does have is continuous recording or at least the last 30 minutes of the channel it was left on. So if you tune in late, you can start over. Dish doesn't have this feature which I do miss from time to time.

I'm very happy with Dishanywhere also, although I think DTV and Comcast now has similar features.

I was a Dish subscriber for nearly 10 years.
Just switched to DirecTV.
The improvement in Picture Quality is nothing short of spectacular.
This is how HD should look.
