HR34 delays
 
Love my DTV but my HR34 sometimes will have delays like it's gone away looking for something, they can be as long as 15sec or more (or so it seems anyway). Most times it works just fine though. It seems to be getting worse lately.
Anyone else experience this?
I have a free equipment upgrade coming soon, I'm wondering if the hard disk is having an issue and I should just wait. Hate to call since you have to dedicate a bunch of phone time often.

If your having Issue's call for a service appointment -get the unit replaced on the visit - if your thinking a HR44 is an equipment upgrade it's NOT the 34 has Issue's being the first MFG release - the HR34 & HR44 are the same in D*'s view just as a Hr22 & a Hr24 are held as the same.

A service visit will get you chance to get a HR44 as that's all D* stocks on the trucks as long as the tech has one.

As mentioned, only D* can determine when you can have an upgrade, not when you're eligible for an upgrade. That's just the hook to keep you paying for the service contract.

Yes, of late my HR34 blacks out for about 2-3 seconds soon after I first turn it on. If it get worse I will call them.

I'm confused then because on my account page it states "Good News! You will be eligible for an upgrade September 20, 2014".
Are you saying that they may not give it to me even if I request it?

They don't consider the HR44 to be an upgrade from an HR34. To them they're both just Genies. If they send you a replacement it could be another HR34, but if they send an installer out he will probably have HR44s on his truck.

CLEARMYBOX fixed the issue.
If you're unfamiliar with the command do a web search on it, worked for me!

mine had delays, finally gave up and made them give a new box, plus showtime for three months.
