Default Intermittant Audio drop outs

Does anyone else experience audio drops?

I am connected via fiber optic to a receiver from my DVR. As a test, I checked using just TV audio and it is still there.

As a further test I replay the dropped portion of the scene and it is on the recording MOST of the time. It's very sporatic but often enough to be real annoying.
Any ideas?

Thanks

could be a number of things. I too get audio drops, but I've learned to just accept it. I thought it might be how I have the audio hooked up, but I've already tried the remedies and it's the same such as I originally had optical in from the hd dvr to my Onkyo receiver, then I used a digital coax cable and still get audio drops, but not as much as with the optical. I believe part of my problem is with my Onkyo receiver, but then others here have said it might be the digital hdcp handshake between the tv and the hd dvr.

The problem is widespread and has been around for a long time. They occur with or without an AV receiver, it doesn't matter. I only get them on a few channels but it's worse for some people. Turning off DD eliminates them for most but then you have to turn it back on to watch a DD movie, etc.
