And the point of this thread is???? As with any company's published info, it's all in the interpretation. Why do you have such a fixation on this subject?

I didn't write the article, Swanni did. If you got a problem with it tell him, the email is on his site. Don't shoot the messenger.

I do think its ridiculous that David Spade says with DirecTV, anything he wants to watch is in HD. Well yeah except these 65 channels.
That's cold hard facts, you can't deny the truth.

Swanni wrote the article and you made sure a link to it got posted here.

You also started the Master list of HD channels NOT offered on DirecTV thread. It seems like you do have a fixation on this subject. Do you think DIRECTV will buckle under all your pressure and add 60-65 more HD channels by tomorrow morning ?

I made that post in February, that's 9 months ago. How is that a fixation?

This is the HD Forum isn't it? Or did someone switch the sign on the door again?

Listen. If you have a problem with the thread that IS on topic and you cannot stick to the subject instead of the poster who posted it then simply do not post in it. Attack the post not the poster as this IS the rule around here.

I find it wrong that they count HD channels that are local channels all around the country that I could not ever get in the HD count. It is misleading at the least and BS IMO.

Nothing wrong with the OP calling out the satco on bloated claims. Me mailbox gets 3-4 flyers a week from comcast, dish, direct, att (who doesn't even service me area) with special offers of xxx amount of channels for xxx amount of dollars. But when one compares the HD channels offered, ye best read the fine print and find out what the hidden cost's are for pseudo, sometime duplicate, and more times than not,,crap channels you just don't view. They all do a pretty good job of delivery for basically the same price - as they all do a good job of muddying up what they advertise.

I agree, all this "mine is bigger than yours" stuff is pretty pathetic. I don't care how many HD channels my provider delivers, all that matters is 'do they deliver the ones I want to watch?". And making a list of "missing" HD channels on DirecTV is IMHO a waste of time. We know there almost certainly won't be any more national HD channels on DirecTV until the new satellite launches at the end of the year. So there's no point in posting about it.
And Swanni, well, he's always posting the obvious, often by re-posting stuff that has already appeared on one of the sat forums. He has virtually never any "new news".

Lying or stretching the truth has been ingrained into advertising since forever.

You always OVER sell the positives, never mention the negative.

I am not here to try to insult any specific provider, each has their own positives and lots of negatives. But 65 channels Dtv doesnt have in HD? Most cable provider have less than 65 TOTAL hd channels. And the new satelitte, you know its going to be new HD channels.

Also lets factor in the offer all costs of offering those channels? what percentage of the customer base is dependant on those 65 channels? We know of 1. Ever think that maybe, at the current time, its just not a profitable solution? If money is to be made, it will be done.

I thought they said they will be capable of having 200 channels. I don't think there are even 200 available.

Isn’t it so obvious that since Directv now has the monopoly as the nation’s primary DBS TV provider with all its customers from past 1-2 years already contractually locked in, so why should they spend money and give a “HOOT” about what customer wants? There is nothing a Directv’s customer can do anything about other than being VOCAL and making sure that potential customers are properly WARNED!

Just my opinion
