BTW, isnít it also obvious that Directv can simply choose to reconfigure their pre-assigned HD slots by cutting down on the number of HD-PPV and HD Sports slots by providing more compartmental sharing among them? The newly allocated HD compartments can be used to provide additional national HD channels such as WGNHD, Hallmark Movie HD, MSNBC HD, AMC HD, and much more. It is a question of costs (shareholder value) vs. customer satisfactions and we all know which direction Directvís has taken.

I'm still trying to figure out what it is to complain about. I am enjoying all the channels in HD we currently have, especially after having only 9 for so many years. Sure I want ESPNU for this coming hoops season, but I don't and have no way of getting it this season. But I'll live, I think.

And the article is so misleading when it says that Dish has added many more HD channels. Of course it has, because it had so many more to catch up to Directv.

Just my opinion
Well, if your as fed up as I was with Directv. I was sooo fed up I was ready to pay a $300 early canclation fee. I had service disconnected on a Sunday and Dish installing the same Sunday. At about 2PM, just as the installer was getting my paperwork ready, (no, I did not opt for the 2 year aggreement with Dish), Directv called offering me a $350 credit to keep service turned on (reconnected). No contract extention. Sooo, yes, I'm sitting here with both. While there are advantages to both, Dish offering a no contract option, 3 HD recievers free and also having Versus plus WGN HD, I'm sticking with Dish. And as for the $350 credit, I'll be canceling next month and not have to pay any early termination fee.
