Default 2 Horizontal lines on TV

Hi,

When I watch divx or Netflix VOD, there are 2 horizontal light lines in the middle of the TV.
Is my config not strong enough ?

Nvidia Geforce FX-5500
Samsung LNT405H
connected via VGA cable (30?ft)
dual monitor
Issue is same with windows and Ubuntu, so I don't expect it is a driver issue.

Any idea ?
thanks !
Remi.

I know those lines are on CRT's (eg - Sony Trinitrons), because of the deguass function. Never seen them on an LCD though.

It is entirely possible that you have a few lines of dead or stuck pixels. If the pixels are dead, you are kinda SOL, however if they are stuck, what I have learned is that playing any Pixar movie should unstick them (Toy story, A bug's life, cars, incredibles, etc.)

The lines seen on some Trintron CRTs have nothing to do with the degauss function. They are "damping" wires to prevent the vertical wires of the aperture grill from resonating. The number varies from 1 in the smaller Trintron tubes to 3 or 4 in the larger tubes. If the grill is in perfect alignment they do not even show.
