On a LCD monitor probably not. Contrast ratio is the difference between the darkest and the brightest light output. Since both will probably have similar light leakage for the black, it would just mean there would be more light output on the top end. If the 1000:1 gets bright enough, then the 2000:1 would get overbright. Manufacturers love big numbers.

It is hard to make a decision based on specs alone. If you can audition these in person then you can make a better decision. Black levels, banding, video processors are rarely reflected in specs.

Are you sure that the cable coming out of my speakers ( its green), will work with the female y cable?

You can get the Y cables at Walmart or Radioshack and many other electronic stores. On the web, try monoprice.

Those marketing names for features are more often come ons. I'd use your eyes to evaluate.

You may have to use 2 adapters. One mini phono Y connector and 1 mini phono to RCA adapter.

would this work: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search. the only thing im not so sure about is that the wire coming oyt of my speakers, the green one, wont work with this adapter. Will it?
And when i will want to play my ps3, will my computer have to be off or will i just have to switch inputs, and if that is the case, how?

If your speakers have a mini phone plug that one won't work. Most computer speakers have mini phone plugs that looks like this:

You should be able to unplug your speakers from your computer and plug this into the speaker output jack on the computer
RCA 3" Mini Stereo Headphone Adapter (AH202) (AH202)

Plug the speaker into one of the jacks on that cable and use a mini plug to mini plug cable like this
Belkin 6FT Mini Stereo Dubbing Mini Plug/ Mini Plug
between the other jack on the above and the monitor.

If that monitor has dual inputs then you can use the other inputs for the PS3. If not, then the switcher I suggested could be used to switch both video and audio or you will have to reconnect the PS3 when you want to use it.
