An exact model number for the TV would help......Does the HDTV have a headphone jack? If so then try that output.

And if the TV has Bluetooth audio output capabilities then a set of Bluetooth headphones may work.

Are you connecting the PC to the HDTV via an HDMI connection?

If so then you may need to re-configure the audio connections in your PC when using an HDMI cable from the PC to the HDTV, as some setups may use the HDMI audio chain.

Check your sound settings in your control panel, see if the headphone jack on your PC is set to something else other then a default output.

Your video card on the PC may be trying to send the audio through the HDMI cable to the TV set, the TV set may not be setup to send this audio to the headphone jack. (if it has one)
