Default Can I play PC games in 3D on a 3D TV?

So I just built myself a new system:

MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition motherboard
Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon quad core 4GHz CPU
32GB DDR3 2666 RAM
2x GeForce GTX 980 video cards running in SLI (which reminds me, I just updated my drivers and need to re-enable SLI)

Currently my "monitor" is a 40" Sony Bravia TV. I've been using it for a few years and it looks and works great. However it only runs at 60hz, so I've been limited to running my games at 60fps. Kinda sad seeing as how my computer can output far more than that. So I've been thinking of getting a new one. The two I'm looking at are both Samsung 40" 4K UHDTVs. One of them is $700 and 120hz. The other is $900, 240hz, and a 3D TV.

I'm leaning toward the second one because like the idea of being able to play some of my PC games in 3D (not to mention the 240hz would be nice). So what I want to know, is this: Will I be able to play PC games in 3D on a 3D TV? From what I can tell poking around on Nvidia's website, it can be done, I just have to purchase some additional software/hardware. But I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone had any experience with this.
