Question Acer S232HL

I went and bought this for home use yesterday. I was hoping to buy something with built-in speakers, but couldnt find any.

This monitor is pretty good. I had to go through the calibration to make the colors pop. I dont know if I did a good/right job, but pictures look great.

specs are available on Acer site. I am not allowed to post URL

So, couple of questions:
1) monitor has VGA, DVI, HDMI. my primary use is with a computer, email, browsing, programing, lot of console work. No matter DVI or HDMI, I only get 60Hz. Is this ok? Am I missing something?
2) What connection should I preferably use? DVI or HDMI? My laptop has only HDMI & VGA. I use a HDMI->DVI cable currently. I also tried HDMI-HDMI with no change in frequency
3) My graphics card (Nvidia geforce 9600m) says the display is not HDCP capable. Specs on various web sites say it is HDCP capable. What gives? Although I am using it right now for a monitor, my latop has a BD drive and I also own a PS3. I would like to use monitor to see BD movies. Without HDCP, the picture quality will degrade. Why does the above link say HDCP optional?

I use it with Windows 7 & Ubuntu.

Thanks much!
