Default Does this device exsist?

For New Years Im headed out of country to visit my buddy. Only thing is, theres no coverage of all the college football bowl games. He mentioned to me a way to hook soomething up to his PC that would allow us to watch satellite tv on his PC. Does anyone know of any way we can make this happen? Thanx!

Your best bet would be to go with a slingbox and use it to send tv from your house to wherever you are via internet.

Thats just it. Where Im going we have no way to access US broadcasts. My buddy mentioned something that would allow us to watch satellite feeds via his PC.

If you have line of site to a satelite that broadcasts US cable, you can get an illegal box/dish I guess to capture and decode it and watch it on any TV. Maybe they make ones with USB??

I suppose another way is that if you have upload bandwidth and can open up your network to be accessible by outside, maybe a network tuner like an HD HomeRun would work? You can check here I guess.

If you were watching at your home, you could watch the games, right?

If so, then get a slingbox. The slingbox connects to your cable box or satellite box. Then you connect to their website over the internet and can use your box just like you were there. So you can watch whatever your TV would be able to display where ever you are.
