Default HDMI tv on windows xp? how do I do it?

Hello and thank you for reading.
I obviously have a problem with the HDMI output on my laptop. I use
an Acer aspire 5810tg all fabric. No custom hardware. When I first
bought it I had windows vista installed and I could plug a HDMI cable in
my laptop and tv and it would work flawless. But I wasn't very happy
with vista(I had several reasons) so I installed the windows xp pro
performance edition(a user-made custom modification of windows
xp. In general its just windows xp pro SP 3 with a few unused features
removed, in order to improve performance.

-So my overall summary is: Audio and Video worked fine through
HDMI on my tv when I had vista, but now with windows xp pro it
doesn't work. So I obviously have the right hardware. So I'm thinking
I need some kind of software(driver maybe) to make it work through
xp. Oh, and I wont go back to vista, I'd rather keep using windows xp

HELP PLEASE!

your laptop has an ATI 4330 chipset on it. Have you downloaded the latest catalyst drivers since you switched from Vista to XP? The PC me be typing from has a 3300 chipset, running XP 64 bit pro with no problems HDMI out to me tv.

You might find that those "unused features" might be necessary. If updated drivers don't help, you should consider actually installing XP + SP3 yourself.

So I read this and thought I should look into my drivers. Now I am pretty sure I have the right drivers installed. But I still cant change to hdmi. So, I found this guide:
www . intel . com / support / graphics / sb / CS -00 465 3 .htm

but the problem is, this is what I see:

help please!

kegobeer is right,,me didn't catch that the first time around. If me be correct, the performance edition (aka the black edition) is a hijacked version of xp pro and will lead to more problems than what it's worth. number 1,,,,automatic updates will not work. And #2,,the problem you be having now. The simplest thing to do would be to bump up to Win7,,only because it's cheaper than a new version of XP. Are you a college student?

well I really like this windows xp version, and it should be possible somehow. Maybe I need to replace my intel drivers with catalyst drivers?

You don't have Intel drivers - you have ATI drivers. Intel does not supply video card drivers for ATI/AMD hardware. You have two choices - check Windows update for updated drivers (if you even have Windows update in your hacked version of XP) or visit ATI/your laptop manufacturer and download ATI drivers for your laptop. If you haven't already done so, you need to download and install all of the drivers provided by your laptop manufacturer.
