Isnt that so cool, that is what sold me on it. My wife fell in love with the car when we were shopping for my daughters first car (got her the G6 sedan). Only thing is when the top is down, no trunk. We'll live with that, isnt that what they make back seats for?

What I love about folding hardtops is that the vehicle looks rather natural, even when the top is up. Everything looks so uniform. To be honest, I would have never even guessed that folding hardtops were possible until Mercedez came out with their redesigned(at the time) SL500/600 Roadsters. I'd love an SL600 V12 one day, but imagine it is probably a maintenance nightmare, even if one could actually afford that thing.

the only downside to the folding hard tops, in my experience, was the brutal impact on trunk space. in the wife's SC430, you could barely have anything in the trunk to ever put the top down so it kinda took away from the spur-of-the-moment decision to drop the top if you carried anything in the trunk on a regular basis. that and the weight impact on the car. other than that you gotta love how the lines of the car top up are not ruined.

this might be surprising but the top was never the problem in the SC430. While it was a highly rate car (as are most lexuses), the problems we had with her car were entirely related to the suspension. her car was killing tires (very expensive run flat Z-rated tires) at a completely atrocious rate, and despite numerous attempts to have the dealer correct the alignment, the car seemed to go back to chewing tires on it's own within 9-12 months. that was reason #1 we sold that car. The other was we decided to wise up and put that mortgage-payment of a car payment towards an actual house.

Great looking G6. It's cool to see GM make an affordable hard top vert. Does the GTP version come in a vert model?

LOL, all of that high tech stuff does come at a price. Look at those Range Rovers with their literally computerized suspension systems. They are actually very capable offroad because the suspension is actually capable of simulating how a live axle behaves when crawling over stuff, even though it is an independent suspension.

Maybe I should just be happy with my Chevy, which has had a few problems where you would least expect it(the Eaton rear diff for example). My Focus however has been incredibly reliable, although I guess there isn't a whole lot that can go wrong.

I LOVE those SVT Countours! I almost bought one a while back, but then Ford pulled the plug and forced me to buy a Taurus SHO back then. The Contour was a bit small though in a time period where vehicles kept getting bigger, so it is understandable why it failed at the time.

... just added an '08 Acura TL, non-nav, 3.2L, dark gray w/black interior to my tiny collection. Much better gas mileage than my truck, is fast and very manueverable!
