Love it...I come here to research my Hi-Def options and what do I do? Go straight to the car department, LOL!
A few years back I got an old cop-car. I liked it so much I bought a better one. It's not fashionable, but I really love this car, my favorite car so far.
She's a '95 Caprice Classic from the NY State Police. Did a few minor mods, she's fun now.

Here's the car on winter wheels:

Those old Caprice police edition cars are quick and comfy... Hard combination to beat... I'm guessing they handle like a boat too, but as long as you don't need to turn you're great...

Heh, don't forget the potential for modding with that LT1 based V8! Lots of stuff available in the aftermarket!

^Outstanding!! Good to see you got yourself a nice set of wheels for the area in which you live.

You'd be guessin' wrong, hehehe! Nope, they are not lightweights and there are definitey limits but...
Driven well, with sticky rubber and with some minor (no cutting or welding) suspension mods, they will piss off a whole lot of sports car drivers at an autocross event. If you see a low Impala or Caprice sitting on race compound tires at an event, don't laugh too loud...

Sick Evo!
I had a white one hand me my azz at Atco a while back. I launched HARD, I had him for a while but he walked me and at the 1/4 he crossed the line with his door at my front bumper. I ran a 13.87 and he still had me! Your new one must be a bit faster than that I'd wager, mid to low 13's?
Not a bad showing for a cheap old cop-car with a bone stock (internally) LT1 though.

Stock ones run high 13s. They're a bit heavier that previous models but have a good engine.

I will be getting rid of the front plate and it won't be illegal!

I have a 2004 Dakota 4.7 Quad Cab as a daily driver and a 67 Dart GT w/340 (12.8 @ 106mph thru the muffs first trip to the drags) and a 1956 Plymouth Savoy with a Polyhead engine bored & stroked to 402 cubic inches; 405HP @ 5600rpm/442 Torque @ 4400rpm on the dyno; averages 391HP from 4400-6000rpm and averages 437 Torque from 3700-5200rpm.

I build these old Poly engines; make great sleepers.
