I'm a Cadillac man myself, i am on my 3rd one. I love the big roomy ones since i am 6'3" & 350lbs i need it. I had a beautiful 94 sedan deville w/ blue sparkling paint & a gold package w/ custom gold rims. Only thing i didn't like about it is that was the year Caddy come out with the Northstar & only put it in some & not others, so mine didn't have it. A couple years ago i decided i wanted a newer one & had a 2003 sedan deville picked out & approved by the bank, but when i went to do my wheeling & dealing there sit a Gold 1998 deville concours with only 48,000 miles on it for 12 grand less & i just couldnt pass it up. I love the Northstar as you can't tell my car is even running from the outside it is sooo quiet & i love it.

But my next purchase is going to be one of those small trucks, a guy has a pic of an Avalanche on this thread as i don't know what they call those but that's what i want as they would be perfect for me & my daughter. Preferably the Escalade version, but that Avalanche looks real nice too. I know they wouldn't have the room of the caddy i drive now, but are those kind of trucks roomy enuff for a big guy like me???

What about a Lincoln? The new ones are darn gorgeous as I think i'm falling in love with the new Lincoln MKX crossover and the redesigned Lincoln Navigator. I'm still mad at Ford for discontinuing the Lincoln LS which was definately my favorite Lincoln.

I'll have to check those out one day, i have seen the older Navigators, but i haven't seen any of the newer stuff. Who knows with only 54,000 miles on this 98 caddy i may drive this beast for quite awhile, but if i change it is definitly gonna be one of those trucks with the short beds, like the avalanche pictured on this thread i was talking about. (as long as i fit, that is )

Head on over to http://www.lincolnvehicles.com and check out the new Lincoln's! I have to say that the very second I saw the new redesigned waterfall grille on the front end of the new Navigators is when I fell in love with it. Unfortunately I can't afford a $55-60k+ SUV, but darn is that SUV gorgeous. That new Lincoln Mark LT pickup truck is frickin gorgeous as well, and priced rather reasonably as it is only a little more expensive than a fully loaded F150. However in the interest of fuel economy, the new MKX crossover looks really sweet although it looks a little too close to a Ford Edge for comfort. At least the new Navigator shares practically no cosmetic resemblence to the Ford Expedition.

Ok man...NO MORE of those links!!!! I just got done complaining the past couple weeks about paying property taxes & renewing my homeowners insurance & your gonna have me truck shopping this week with a link like that...LOL...Seriously though, that Mark LT is absolutely beautiful & I like a few of those exterior colors but that white parchment interior color makes that dash look awesome, i could just stare at that for awhile. All i can say is WOW!!!
I have to say i was a bit naive about the trucks now being so sharp & luxurious on the inside as i have never shopped for them, just seen em on the road & thought i'd really like one & now I KNOW i want one. My brother just a year ago bought a 2006 Chevorlet truck for about 30 grand(not sure wich model) & it is super nice but nothing like that Lincoln Mark LT. Like i said before i will probably drive this caddy i got for awhile but you have definately opened my eyes to something i had no idea was out there. Thanks for that link!

I had to add, thatafter posting this i went to cadillac.com & looked at the EXT they sell wich as far as style & size is comparable to the Lincoln Mark LT & was blown away that they want 55 grand compared to the Mark LT starting at 38 grand. I come from a GM family, as my dad retired from GM after 35 years & we all got that GM discount on new cars until our mom & dad passed away, so you could see where i would be biased towards GM...maybe some people, but there is no way i'd drop 55 g's down for that caddy when Lincoln offers that Mark LT for 38 grand. I love caddy's but i doubt if i went & test drove those 2 vehicles i am going to feel a 17,000 dollar difference. I know i am just looking at pctureson the net right now, but compared to the caddy EXT that Lincoln Mark LT looks like a nice deal. Ok that's all & i'll try to hush now, thanks again for that link.

I think trucks are only going to get more luxurious and higher end as it is clear that trucks arn't just for hauling stuff anymore. It is clear that more and more people wish to use a truck as a daily driver if they can afford the cost of fuel. Another issue rising fuel costs bring up, is that it is likely going to have a shift on who will buy a truck. Obviously only people who can afford to buy the fuel for it will own one, and chances are that they are higher income and demand a more pampered and luxurious environment. We all remember the SUV craze that hit in the 90's where the SUV basically became a status symbol.

If that doesn't have you tempted yet, I believe that Ford is currently working on a larger displacement version of their modular V8's. Rumor has it that a 6.2 litre is being developed. If you ever have a chance, go ahead and test drive a Lincoln/Ford truck as you might be seriously surprised. They have some of the best build quality and interior fit and finish of any truck i've seen on the market. I have been a life long fan of the blue oval, so obviously I am biased. I only own a Chevy right now because there was a wicked $5500 rebate combined with the dealer discount that gave me $10k off sticker on my SUV. Ford also doesn't seem to be offering much to horsepower junkies like me in an affordable price range.
