Thanks. I definately want to stay with Ford since I am a bigger Ford fan than anyone else here. I am also a small Ford shareholder, and would feel like I was betraying my favorite company if I was forced into buying a Hyundai. I can't believe finding an Escape with navigation is this hard though, as I couldn't possibly be the only person who buys a car with factory nav.

Well you can't be a number 1 ford guy, thinking about a Sonata.. Sorry..

I love ford trucks, own/owned my fair share, doesn't mean I'm number one though. ..

I also love my SS Camaro, better then any ugly mustang out there, and it peforms better too. lol

Anyways, just get the bigger engine and chrome wheels, and be done with it.. It will look a hundreds time better too.. I'm sure they can offer you a deal on one of those, no??

O.k. them's fightin' words

The only brand new cars that my family ever bought were Fords.

(For used cars you get the best you can find)

On please, the Mustang has kicked the Camaro's piggy ass in every single comparison test that has been done. The Mustang even beat out the Camaro SS back when it still only had a 240hp V6 and 315hp V8 because it isn't just the engine that makes a car. I tried sitting in a Camaro a while back, and could never get used to the incredibly claustrophobic front windscreen. I have never been in a car with such horrible visibility before.

What are you smoking. The Camaro kicks the mustangs ass.. The camaro took a break for almost 9 years, while the mustang still couldn't put out a car that beat it. Come on now, don't be blowing bs up in here..

Mustang hasn't had anything worth a dam for the past decade. Starting last year they finally put out a decent mustang, and all these fan boys arrive out of no where.

Mustang with 4.6 litre v8 wins!

The panel was shocked, shaken, and staunchly unanimous: This Mustang rules.

Why the low expectations? Look at the stats. Just 315 horsepower. Simple struts up front and a log axle out back. A five-speed pitted against two bolt-action sixes.

But look at the facts: At 3580 pounds, the Mustang is lightest by 300. A lively throttle reels in 60 mph nearly as quickly as the Camaro (the Mustang did have 6700 break-in miles, which may have helped), and the car pulls the highest skidpad g (0.92) by a wide margin. The Ford stops in the same distance as the megabraked Camaro (162 feet), and it returned the best fuel economy (17 mpg) despite having the shortest gear ratios of the three cars.

Guess what, Mustang V6 wins again!

We mentioned surprises, and this was the big one. Not so much because of the straight-ahead performance—305 horsepower in a 3520-pound car, the lightest in the group, produced about what we expected: 0-to-60 in 5.4 seconds, the quarter-mile in 14 flat at 104 mph.

The surprise was what this Mustang could do on mountain roads. Where the GT was nimble, the V-6 was eager, with a lighter touch and better balance. Our test car was a Premium version, equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and those summer Pirellis, which helped it put up the best skidpad performance of the foursome: 0.95 g. We’re not entirely sure that you’ll be able to order this wheel-and-tire combo with either the Premium or American Mustang Club packages. But we’re sure that this car was the dancing champ on the high roads of the Los Padres National Forest, one of the most involving production Mustangs in our experience.

It isn't always about who is faster. The Camarobirds have always been faster than the Mustangs, but it is also about who makes the more balanced car. I've driven Camaros before, and I remember the old Camaro I test drove back in 2001 before I decided to purchase the SVT Cobra.

Everything about the new 5.0 smacks of racing hardware and sounds like it, too, with a throaty baritone bark that’s more musical than the Camaro’s primal basso profundo. Louder, too—note the dBA readings in the chart. One crew member wondered whether that high noise level might get a little tedious on long drives—76 dBA at 70 mph is a couple brass bands more than 72 dBA, which isn’t exactly library quiet. To which the rest of the crew replied, “Nah.”

But those are just numbers. On mountain back roads and the Buttonwillow road circuit, the dynamic distinction between the Camaro and the Mustang was akin to the difference between a fighting bull and a star matador. The Mustang felt much lighter than the heavy Chevy, quicker in transient responses, and much quicker out of corners, live rear-axle suspension notwithstanding.

Well, I got back from the dealer earlier today and they have found me an Escape equipped almost exactly the way I wanted it at a dealer about 120 miles away over in Plainfield, IN. They said that they will hire a professional vehicle transporter to take a vehicle that they are trading with that other dealer, and bring my suv here. While I wanted a 4 cylinder Escape Limited 4WD, the closest one with the specs I want was located nearly 300 miles away near Detroit.

They said that the entire area where this other Ford dealer is located, is covered under a sheet of ice right now thanks to that monster winter storm that somehow managed to miss us here in Cincinnati. Because the entire dealer is still shut down due to everything being iced over, it may not be till Monday when they are able to clear the vehicle so the transporter can bring it.

I ended up getting a Tuxedo Black Escape V6 AWD Limited with rear view camera, nav, 302a package, and of course the auto parallel park.

2011 vs 2010.. Yea, that's a fair comparo..

Maybe they should compare the cobra vs a v6 too.. Better Yet, the Z-28 to a ford mustang 6 cyl..

Those are actually pretty fair comparisons considering that the 2011 Camaro didn't really change at all from the 2010. I believe the V6 is rated at 5hp more, but that is it. They compared the 2011 MGT 5.0 against the 2010 Camaro SS with 6.2 litre V8. Then they compared a 2011 Mustang V6 against a 2010 Camaro RS V6. The earlier review compared a 2010 4.6 litre 315hp MGT against a 2010 Camaro SS, and the Mustang still won despite having over 100hp less.

I actually can't wait to try out the auto-parallel park feature. This is one feature that could prove very useful to the numerous chinese girls out there that I see trying to parallel park around the UC campus. They not only manage the pulverize the bumpers of the cars in front of and behind the intended parking spot, but they back traffic up for blocks because it takes them 10 minutes to properly parallel park.

In 2003 the Terminator went into production. It's taken 7 years for someone to catch up!

Amd - congrats on the car!!!

That's because the Camaro wasn't made after 2002.. SO not much of a market there.. Ford got lazy in those 8 years the camaro wasn't around..

Anyways, when the Z-28 gets released, we will see what Ford has to counter that, but I doubt it will be in the same price bracket..
