The phrase, "your mileage may vary" comes to mind

Every dealer is going to be different in how they do business. I know that when my parents went car shopping when I was kid, dealers were always giving better deals if you had cash in your hand.

now it doesn't matter whether if you choose to finance or pay in full with cash. When I was negotiating with the dealer to try to see if they'd give me a discount for paying in full, they wouldn't really budge with the price...well they'd only give me like a maximum of $1000 off.

I think the bigger discount is if you have a vehicle for trade. Well this was for a used vehicle. Obviously with a newer vehicle, you have the incentives.

That's all depends! Maybe there is no dealer sometimes.

yep it depends...depends on the dealer's finance manager and if he/she is willing to budge. They might go down a considerable amount, but then they'll try to snatch up more of your money by handing you more useless incentives like Lojack or an extended warranty or other accessories that are way too much. The Nissan dealer I went to tried to get me to pay for fog lights that I knew I could get for $50-100 and were offering $350 before installation.
