This 70 GS Stage 1 was just beautiful when I saw it at the MCACN show. It was restored by Level One Restorations out of Colorado, along with the bright yellow/green 1969 Firebird RAIV ragtop that sat next to it at the show. While talking with the owner of Level One Restorations, and his right hand man, it was quite apparent that money was no object with The Brothers.

While not correct according to the GS's build sheet, I would have installed Buick Road Wheels and white letter tires and put the wire hubcaps and whitewalls in storage. Just call it a "dealer add-on" or a "customer request".

Did you know . . .

GM just filed for trademarks for "Manta Ray" and "Corvette Manta Ray." The Manta Ray was a 1969 Corvette show car. These filing can be either to ensure the name is available for future use or to prevent a competitor from using them.

There were two versions of the Manta Ray (same car). The one you see above (1st version) and the one below (2nd version).

The Manta Ray would be the last Chevrolet Corvette show car to use a moniker associated with marine life; Stingray, Mako Shark and Manta Ray.

Did you know . . .

The 1965 AMC Marlin came standard with Power Front Disc Brakes.

It was available with AMC's Twin-Stick Overdrive Autuomatic Transmission which gave you 5 speeds: 1, 2, 2OD, 3, 3OD. The left stick controls the transmision while the right stick controls the overdrive unit
