Preproduction 1967 Mustang Spinner Full Wheel Cover

Never made it to production due to the change in federal vehicle safety laws which outlawed spinners

Did you know . . .

In 1965, you could get the new 396/325 hp only in the Impala, Impala SS and Caprice. It was not an option on the Biscayne or the Bel Air

Same car only in color - you can see it has the GT caps on the wheels - should be plain

The Devils in the details . . .

It's a great looking 1967 El Camino isn't it? And if Chevy had built a SS 396 version it would probably look just like this one . . . But Chevy didn't. No SS 396 El Camino in 1967. Just the 396 engine option (325 and 350 hp). 1968 was the first year for the SS 396 El Camino.

1968 SS 396 El Camino Brochure Photo

1968 was not only the first year for the SS 396 El Camino but also for the L78 375hp engine option. The 396 had been available in the El Camino since 1966 in 325 and 350 hp.
