1966 GM-X Prototype

GM-X was the moniker for the soon to be Firebird. To improve the handling, the engineers set the ride height very low and had to use very stiff springs to prevent the car from bottoming out which made the car ride like a truck. The idea was scrapped.

1967 2+2 Convertible Brochure Photo

Though shown in the brochure, the hood tach was not a factory installed option. It was a dealer installed option

If you ordered PFDB for your 2+2, it came with special wheel covers as the option included 15" wheels and tires:

1967 was the last year for the 2+2 due to poor sales (1768). But if you wanted to build a Muscle Car 2+2, Pontiac would. You could order the 428 HO engine, close ratio 4 speed and 4.11 rear axle - all from the factory

Did you know . . .

The 1969 Pontiac Performance Brochure shows a Ram Air setup on the 350 H.O. Firebird and LeMans that was never used. The left side is the Tach while the right side is the air inlet (no tach on the LeMans)
