It's a very rare 1966 GTO 389 Tri-Power with optional Calif. Smog Setup.

1970 Yenko Deuce with optional Twin Sport Mirrors

Approx. 26 of the 185 Yenko Deuces sold had this $20 option. Same company that made the special mirrors for the Hurst Olds and SC/Rambler made them though they were cheaper - no chrome. They also presented a problem as you can see: the wing windows won't open as they bang into the "cone" of the mirror.

I have shown many photos of the 1969 Firebird Trans Am. Many have RWL tires. I do not believe they are correct for this car. It came standard with F70x14 WSW FGB tires and AFAIK, there was no optional tire. The Firebird 400 came standard with F70x14 Redlines with WSW optional at NC. I have found nothing that says Pontiac was using RWL tires for the 1969 model year. They started using them for the 1970 models.

Did you know . . .

There was only one magazine ad created for the 1969 Firebird Trans Am:

The car shown above is using a non-production hood. Compare it to a production car's hood:

Also note the red "Ram Air" decals on the ad car's hood were dropped before production started.

This is the only 1970 Boss 429 (total production: 499) that was ordered from the factory with both Sport Slats and Rear Spoiler - as confirmed by Ford guru Kevin Marti. It has been in storage for 41 years.
