1963 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STYLING CAR "BUNKIE KNUDSEN'S"

Quote:
This very early 1963 Corvette convertible, number 148, went to GM styling and engineering in preparation for presentation to the Chevrolet Motor Division President, Semon "Bunkie" Knudsen.

Default The overall thread

Hi Lee:
I am stomached and more than once with the amount of info you have on these "special era cars". I must raise my hat again more than once with the knowledge you have on these autos. This is an incredible and huge place of info on these cars, never seen that..

You have probably not been fed much with photos of 1970-72 formula firebirds but I guess you had to go with the material existing.
Thanks very much for your involvement and kindness.
I am from Quebec and wish you the best.
Gaston

The Devils in the details . . .

Redline tires were no longer standard or an option on the 1970 Nova SS. It came with E70x14 WSWs with E70x14 WSW FGB tires as the only optional tires.

Hi Gaston

Thanks for the Kudos! Greatly appreciated. You are right, I don't post enough photos of 70-72 Formula Firebirds . . . My bad I will correct that shortly.

I am a lover of them. Had a brand new 1973 Formula 455 Firebird.

Here is a 1970:

Look up any production numbers for the 1969 427 COPO Camaro and they all say Yenko sold 201 . . .

Hmmmmmmmmm

IMO, the "error" comes from dealers selling Yenko Camaros where they ordered a COPO Camaro then put the Yenko stripes, badges and headrests on their car, under licence from Yenko Chevrolet, and sold it as a 427 Yenko Camaro. Don Yenko ordered 201 from Chevy for his dealership.
