Note:

For those of you who have been following this thread for a while you might notice that the amount of posts in this thread has decreased by about 1400.

I was forced to remove them because Image Shack wanted a lot of money to "show" my photos which I refused to do. So I was forced to delete all posts with Image Shack URLs. The pages affected were in the 150 to 250 range

Oh well . . .
.

KK #1327 is one of the early built by hand 1969 Boss 429s. It has rare 820-S NASCAR engine stock with special Ford C9AE-A heavy duty 1/2″ bolt rods, forged pistons and steel crank, high nickel HP-429 standard 2-bolt block with screw-in freeze plugs, undamaged C9AE-A original aluminum O-ringed hemi heads, forged rockers, staggered valve train, aluminum high rise Ram Air Holley carburetor intake, unique magnesium valve covers, dual points, power steering and engine oil coolers, KKX unique beefed-up lowered and widened competition suspension, staggered rear shocks, front and rear under axle unique sway bar, close ratio 4-speed, 3.91 Trac-Lok nodular rear. All Boss 429s were built the same except for the very early cars because they are more collectable with more history, as they were unique in having two different drivetrains in them. They were invoiced through Shelby automotive DSO 89-2000 and went to Kar Kraft with 428 SCJ Drag Pack drivetrains and suspension. Then they were changed to Blue Crescent forward mounted 429 CJ HO drivetrains and suspension. These early 820-S engine cars had 20 things done differently with some KKX and XE only parts. This has its original Special Performance vehicle ID tag, KK sticker, Buck Tag, all body stamped VIN numbers, glovebox warranty papers, Build Sheet, both invoices, Marti Report and all letters from Ford.
NOTE: 279 of the 850 1969 Boss 429s had the S-code NASCAR engine

Did you know . . .

Despite the selling price of a Boss 429 (around $5000) Ford lost money on every single one sold due to the high cost of installation and a low production high performance engine.

Did you know . . .

Ford was planning on having 50 1969 Boss 429 Cougars built by Kar Kraft

Kar Kraft did build 2 1969 Boss 429 Cougars. And here is the bill they sent to Ford for the work they did which killed the 1969 Boss 429 Cougar run

Did you know . . .

1970 'Cudas, with option N96: Shaker Hood, for the most part, had Argent colored Shaker Bubbles.

This was changed for 1971 when all 'Cudas (with the exception of a few early production cars - had left over 1970 Bubbles) had a Black Bubble

The reason for the color change . . . Glare off the Argent Silver.

Did you know . . .

For the 1970 'Cuda, Plymouth was planning on having the Shaker Bubble match the body color for all the 9 colors that were to be offerred when ordering the Elastomeric bumper(s). They even built one for their brochure:

Unfortunately they found that there was an issue with the paint peeling off the Bubble and cancelled this feature . . . except for cars ordered in Rally Red. Legal said, "you showed them a car they could buy . . . sell it to them!" But half way through production, Plymouth cancelled the Red colored Bubble - too much time and money being spent repainting them.
