![]() ![]() This should look familiar to anyone who has done a road trip from the north to the south. Xmas break from college (Dec. 1969 to Jan 1970), my buddy Al and I drove from Boston, MA to Miami, FL in his 1969 Chevelle SS 396. 10 day trip. Made the stop at South Of The Border to eat lunch on the way down. Last edited by Lee Stewart; 10-23-2014 at 06:02 PM.. |

1967 L79 327/325hp El Camino
![]() The L79 with it's 11 to 1 compression ratio and hydralic lifters was only available in the Chevelle and El Camino in 1967. It was not available in the Camaro or the Nova. When ordered in the Corvette, it was still 350hp. No real difference except the exhaust manifolds . . . "Rams Horn" in the Corvette and "Log" in the Chevelle. The RH had better flow. ![]() 1967 Corvette L79: ![]() Last edited by Lee Stewart; 10-23-2014 at 05:50 PM.. |

Did you know . . .
Chrysler forecasted that they would sell 5000 A12 (440+6) Road Runners and Super Bees. Unfortunately, because they went to Edlebrock for the 3x2 Aluminum Intake Manifold, and Edlebrock was a limited production company, the demand for the Manifold overwhelmed Edlebrock who only was able to produce about 3500 units. 3,384 units went into production cars and the remander went into stock. ![]() Last edited by Lee Stewart; 10-23-2014 at 06:21 PM.. |
