Both the stripes, which were optional on the 1970 Chevelle SS, and the hood pins, which were not an option - they were included when you ordered the ducted hood, were added to this car during the resto. Should have left both off, especially the hood pins which are a dead giveaway that the car is not stock.

The tires are not correct for this 1969 442. They should be F70 not G70 which showed up the following year (1970).

The 1969 442 came standard with F70x14 redline tires with WSW a NC option. Both were polyester. Then you had two options: F70x14 FGB redline or F70x14 FGB RWL.

This is that car that someone screwed up during the restoration. Originally it was a Q-code 428 CJ 4 speed convertible of which Ford only built 5. Now it looks like an R-code which Ford built 51 of. Will be interesting to see what it sells for, if it sells. Yes it can be converted back to it's original build. What's needed are a new hood and new air cleaner assembly. What are the chances of matching the paint exactly? Unknown to me.

Though not correct, the redline tires do look good. If there was ever a car that Ford should have put them on it was this one. Ford built 100 of them.

By 1972 muscle cars were pretty much history due to outrageous insurance rates and rising gas prices. There were a handful left and this is one of them.

I know I have posted this Z before but IMO it really is one of the prettiest 1968 Z/28s I have ever seen. Just wish they had left the spoilers off.
