Very nice restoration--except for those %@[email protected]*! low-hanging exhaust pipes!

Pontiac Mike:

Looking at the GTO in the above post . . . I was told that when you ordered a white top you got white pinstripes and WSW tires instead of the redlines. Can you verify this?

Lee, the red line and white line tires were no-charge preferences, both tires appear on the factory 1967 GTO Order Form. I think it was really up to personal taste which look you wanted. The default was the red line on the 1967 GTO.

The biggest issue I see with the 1967 GTO Ram Air posted above is that the Ram Air tub is on backwards. You'd think with how detailed that engine compartment is, someone would have caught that.

The matching Royal Plum wheels look very nice, but they didn't do that at the factory. Steel wheels should be black when you received dog dishes (a.k.a. poverty caps). The only time Pontiac color-keyed steel wheels in 1967 was for Montreux Blue, Mariner Turquoise, and Seneca Bronze.

As a side note, if the car had full wheel covers, steel wheels were always black.
