If you look closely you will notice that the center caps are not production models. Nor are the trim rings which have a brushed finish. So the wheels are pre-production. Compare them to production wheels below:

Photos of pre-production cars are notorious for showing non-production features. Pre-production cars were typically photographed 2-4 months before the model year started. The styling department changed trim, finishes, etc. before the assembly lines fired up. Unfortunately, a lot of restos were (and still are) done according to pre-production photos, but I think most reputable restoration shops nowadays do a little homework before performing a resto.

Also many times I see cars owned by high profile people (or companies) that are incorrect, and people doing restorations on their own vehicle assume those cars must be correct in every way because the person that owns it is well known. Was just involved in a long discussion about that all-black 1979 Formula 400 4-speed that PHS restored incorrectly. They painted the car a solid color, not two-tone, which you couldn't do on a 1979 Formula. There are now two other restos sitting in museums/resale houses with the same incorrect paint scheme because the all-black PHS one received a ton of media attention when it sold.

Dealer's ad says car is Rallye Red . . . ? Stripes are incorrect BTW. Those are W30 stripes and this 442 is not a W30
