Nice looking car but the seller must be smoking crack or something. He is asking $100,000 for it. It's not a Super Cobra Jet and it doesn't have the original intake or carb on it. IMO . . . $55K tops.

Never seen this ad before.

The Acoustically Tuned Chambered Twin Pipes . . . with Chrome Tip

IMO - a precursor to the 1969 Chevrolet Chambered Exhaust available on the Chevelle SS 396 and HiPo Camaros (shown below)

It's an SCJ Mach 1 in Raven Black with the Custom Interior. That's in it's favor. What devalues the car are all the add-ons: 15" Chrome Magnum 500 Wheels, Front Spoiler, Sport Slats (all can easily be removed) and Rear Spoiler which will leave holes in the trunk lid. Matching Black perfectly is not an easy endeavor. Mecum estimates the car will sell for between $90K and $110K. IMO they are being very generous. $75K is my estimate.

I thought for a second it might be one of the Special Order Paint: Competition Orange cars. It sure does look like it. But the write up says it's Candy Apple Red. Does that look Red to you?

It is an all numbers matching 1968 Chevelle SS396. RWL tires can easily be switched out for what originally came on the car (F70x14 WSW: RPO PW7). What can't be is the pin stripes on the sides of the car. They were an option . . . on the Malibu . . . not the SS396. They are probably paint. No idea how much it would cost to fix. Thousands of dollars!

I always thought that when people stopped ordering Two-Tone cars in favor of vinyl tops that the manufacturers, via the designers and marketing, would get a little creative in coming up with a more modern, sort of custom, Two-Tone paint combo like this 1972 Grand Prix.

Plymouth came pretty close on the 1970 AAR 'Cuda, especially when you ordered the Black vinyl roof

Ford also tried for the 1970 XL with "Dual Tone" paint. . . it was not a popular option at all. Only 160 were ordered that way

I think Mercury came the closest with the optional two-tone combo for their 1969 Marauder X-100 that replaced the standard flat black.
