Default White Faced Gauge Cluster Cover question

On my 95 mustang

I had this guy order me a white faced gauge cluster yrs ago and Today after putting in my clock spring, we noticed a wire looked like it came off of the switch for the illumination change so we crimped it on to a wire holder and put it back on. I noticed when I got back home that the panel isnt lighting up at all.

I don't know what brand name the gauge cluster was from yrs ago, tried to google some and see what it came up with and couldnt really find any other than Roush, JC Whitney brands, ect. I'm guessing the power supply might have went bad but I dont know how as a result of just the wire coming off it could have done that. The battery was disconnected and everything. I tried turning on the lights, and taking the wire back off and touching it on the prong of the little switch several times in different places on it to make sure it was getting a good connection.

I'm calling it a switch but its a thing which I can turn the illumination from blue to green if I want, and also there is a black box which looks like the actual power supply.

Any help would be appreciated.
