mmmmmm, that is beautiful. Would be nice to bid, and win, that fine automobile. I would also drive the hell out of it, would not be put up in my garage.

Not much more - it is the fact that only 8 were built and you couldn't buy one. They were sold/given to special dealers/people by PMD

The bidding reached . . . $1,100,000

But it was under the reserve price (reserve unknown - I am guessing $1.5M)

The one of a kind Harley Earl 1963 Corvette did sell at $925,000. Here is what it looks llike if you are not famaliar with this very special Corvette - A gift from GM to Earl.
