Default Surge protectors, what to buy?

I am buying a new LCD TV and I want to protect it from getting fried! What do I need to look for? I looked online and prices range from $5 on up to over $100. All I want is to protect my TV, I don't care about battery backup or whatever else.

Thanks

~Christian
