Default 24.99 Comcast internet W/free basic cable

...per month for 1 year, now thru June 12, 2009.

The only catch is that the internet is only at "economy" speeds. Comcast economy speed was adjusted up to 1mb on Nov. 24, 2008, according to a press release, but informally (with a "wink") Comcast reps are saying I will get the 6mb anyway. However, the various Comcast reps have been inconsistent on this issue.

Does anyone know for sure what the Comcast economy speed is?

Also, is 1mb enough to run a MagicJack?

Hi I work for the sales dept of Comcast in Knox, Tn and the special is for the 1mb here and its 24.95/mo with a $3 modem rental if you want to use ours and if you want the 6mb its 42.95 with $3 modem rental again if you use ours.

Hope that helped

Karl, but do they (unofficially) give you the 6mb anyway; just not advertising that fact so as not to upset the higher paying customers? This is what some of the reps here are suggesting.

There are a lot of things I can do that are "unofficial" but as to if you will get the upgrade I really couldn't say. I'd say a lot of it has to do with the area you're in. We have a system we use to build packages sometimes there are codes in the system that allow us to do stuff that aren't official promo's but they work. the only answer I can give you is it depends on if there is the possibility to build the package and if it will work properly, that comes down to each individual area.

I'm not sure what speed I'm getting but it seems to be plenty fast and the Roku box runs good.
I wonder how Comcast will compete with AT&T here in Nashville.
