Default FiOS Doing Some Under Handed Chit!

I have had FiOS since 2008. I use a 550 Harmony remote. I could pause live TV, and skip through the dam commercials. About 8 months ago I noticed that when you ff and stop, it doesn't stop where you stopped it at, it goes back a few seconds when the commercial is on. I think it does this so you catch the tail end of the commercial, duh I don't want to see it at all. I believe advertisers are paying Verizon for being the last commercial before the program comes back on. It sounds crazy, I know. When I pause it on the TV show, it doesn't go backwards. It stays on the show. How else can they control us controlling the remote, yes?

That would seem to require a time machine to go into the future. Do you mean to say this happens with a program you have DVR'd and are fast forwarding through its commercials?

No, when I watch live TV. My stb is old, but it always stopped when I hit the button, It never went backwards when I hit play. The only thing I can equate it to is On Demand vids. When you stop OD videos, it never stops/pauses when you hit the button. It stops a few seconds after that. This did not occur on live TV, it stopped when you hit the button; now it doesn't.

Don't see where a time machine would factor into my question!

If it is an STB you cannot pause and go backwards, that requires a hard drive, aka DVR.
