Since most internet pages are 500k, if surfing the web is all that your doing..even at 6.0Mbit you will get 4 pages a sec. How fast can you read? TWC has released speed boost, but its a temp boost. Verizon FioS claims 30+ Mbit, TWC offers "turbo" at 10Mbit. The 10Mbit is more than enough for most families. Verizons 30+ is almost over kill (pricewise too). One of thier ads when they first came out compared the speed to drinking water through a fire hose. Both offer different speed levels for all users, its just want you think you need VS pricepoint. GL

Default Speed Differences???

Verizon's highest is 7.0 speed and warner cable 10.0 and 15.0 with its booster speed option-cost of booster speed is $84.00 a month with phone and internet. With Verizon I pay $ 70.00 a month with phone and internetSPEED.

I can't get QWEST in my area !!!! What do you guys think of Warner Cables Internet Service. They'll give me fast internet I can talk on the phone at the same time and they'll give me unlimited calls all over the world for the first year.Plus I'll get to keep my old phone number that I had with Verizon.

That should be just fine. Consider yourself lucky that you don't have Comcast...

Those speeds are with speed boost. Basic is normally sub 5Mbits down with 384kb up. TWC turbo is 10mbit but speed boost to 30mb down.

FYI, Verizon DSL and Verizon FiOS are two entirely different things... in case you or anyone else didnt know. See if FiOS is available in your area.
