Default Considering Comcast in Indy, not Direct TV

I'm leaning toward trying Comcast HD. I had been holding out to get AT&T U-Verse but finally got a definitive NOT Available last week due to signal strength below threshold.
Now I can move forward with plan B, get an HD provider with good quality HD and a decent HD channel lineup. Not really interested in HBO, Showtime, etc. Looking to get locals, TNT, ESPN, Golf Channel, etc. in HD.
I want to have 2 TVs with HD capability, one DVR and 3 other TVs that I hope I can just hook up to the cable (minus STB) to get a good selection of programing. Maybe within the next 6 months upgrade an older rear projection set with a replacement HDTV and get a 2nd DVR for that unit.

Anything I should be concerned about with this plan?
I think the Comcast HD pkg (after the 6 month intro price) is around $75 per month (Digital Preferred Service), plus $7 per month for HD then $16 per month for one DVR and finally $12 per month for 2 regular receivers... That's about $110 per month not including those misc. fees and taxes... probably be $130 all in!!!

Does this sound reasonable?
thanks
Ken

If you just want locals,,Comcast is the worst way to go. Put up an antenna and get them really cheap,,,,how does free sound.

Call and find out what equipment they are using. If it's Motorola - OK. If it's Scientific Atlanta/Cisco FORGET IT!

I want more than locals in HD... I want ESPN, ESPN2, HGTV, Golf Channel, A&E, TBS, etc.

I already have several TVs with OTA locals in HD but want more.

thanks

To get these channels in HD you will need a box, or a cable card if your TVs have a slot for it, for each TV. So your above estimate sounds about right. Now whether spending $130 for TV is reasonable, that's up to you.
