Default It's Official - I am a BD player & Movie owner now!

I just bought a PS3 60GB game console, the free BD movie, a 2nd controller, a PS2 memory adapter, & 3 PS3 games (Restistance, Need for Speed, + Madden07).

I will not be using it actually, but it is for my excellent 15 year old son who deserves a real reward for being such a great kids and a great help around the house.

I just called one of the local GameStop at 4:00pm today and asked if they had the PS3 60GB. They said yes and I asked if they could hold it for 10 minutes. They said no on holding it but it will be there for sure.

They still have a bunch now at 6:30pm when I called to check before telling a friend about it for his son.

Congrats PFC5 - be sure and give us a good review. Surely it'll be hooked up to the main display for a little while before going into the kid's room, right?

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it sure seems like it's pretty easy to get a PS3...

Congrats!

BD enjoyment for the masses!

I guess that free Talledega Nights offer is still good! I guess they're sticking to the offer till they hit 400,000 units?

You had me for a minute there, PFC5. When I read that thread title, I went into shock , but recovered when you disclosed that "I will not be using it actually".

If however, you do after all decide to pick up some choice BD titles (for yourself, your kid, whatever) then you have some explaining to do. Maybe It'd be better just to keep that info stealth.

I don't see why they shouldn't stick with it - its not worth buying.

Congrats to your son. Good work should be rewarded.

I admit for something that supposed to be hard go get I'm finding that a lot of people are walking into stores and grabbing a console.

I read one report today of someone that did not get Talledega Nights with his unit. So they may have passed the 500,000 mark if it's true.

Seriously. That honestly blows my mind. Before the release, I really thought it would be impossible to get this year, short of forking out a mint or camping out in front of a BB.

PFC5 - good job on getting Resistance. I've heard it's the best of the launch titles by far and I'm sure your son will have a ball.

Nice job PFC5, hope your son has a ball with Resistance. I know, you're going to eventually check out a BD movie on it so let us know what you think.

It would have to be. NPD data showed 197k NA units a week ago or so.
