Exclamation Oppo releases HDR10+ update for its UHD Blu-Ray players

Despite Oppo having abandoned the disc player market, the company has released a firmware update for its two UHD Blu-ray players, UDP-203 and UDP-205, that enables playback of HDR10+ discs.

Oppo teased the update a while ago and it has now been released in public beta. The firmware carries version number UDP20X-60-0625.

The firmware enables playback of HDR10+ UHD Blu-ray discs. The first two such discs are the ‘IMAX Enhanced’ A Beautiful Planet and Journey to the South Pacific. You also need a compatible HDR10+ TV such as a recent Samsung or Panasonic TV.

In addition, the new firmware enables a Dolby Vision “HDMI IN bypass” mode for the HDMI In port. It also includes various bug fixes, the company said.
