Default What is the Blu Ray Player Software?

Recently,i want to see the differences between DVD and Blu-ray disc, so i bought a Blu-ray disc.
What a pity, i don't know how to play Blu-ray disc on PC until now.
I have searched some answers an internet, most of them introduced the Blu ray player software, but don't say the functions of it, just mentioned the Blu ray player software can play Blu ray.
I want more information of it.

you can play blu-ray movies on PC if you have one Blu-ray recorder drive and Blu-ray player software
Have you ever copy the video files or pictures to discs for preservation? There is more or less quality loss when you convert video to DVD or BD, especially the burn high definition one. But you could reduce the quality loss to a minimum.

Blu-ray player software can load your blu ray disc and then play the movies for you on your computer.
