Does D* show any NESN (Red Sox) games in HD? If anyone receives them, could you please let me know what channel, what package or any other info that might be available. I'm pretty the answer is NO for everybody, but I thought I'd check.

I live in Wallingford, CT 06492 (Hartford-New Haven) market if that makes a difference.

I recently got rid of D* after 6 years. I'm a huge Sox fan that watches every game. I bought an HD TV about 6 months ago and decided that if I watch the Sox every night then I have to get them in HD, so I switched to Charter. The games now are unbeleivable. D* will get NESN in the future, but I couldn't wait any longer. They never gave any definate answers, so I pulled the trigger.

I know

I had Comcast HD, which carried NESN HD-but the cost of Comcast was getting outrageous, so we opted for D*.

Do you think we just found our new closer-Timlin?

Now we need a reliable set up man.

Are you talking about Tom Gordon?

You can keep him.

The new closer for the SOX? Drumroll please... Curt Schilling!!!

07-06-2005, 12:30 PM
sorry no schilling won't be the closer. they addressed that with him on the radio yesterday. 1) he won't be back till probably early august. 2) he said it is to big of a change to even think about. rumor on WEEI is that Larry Luchino wants a new closer by next week. can you say billy wagner or jose mesa???

Just read an article on FoxSorts.com that also reported that Francona said "Shilling will rehab in the bullpen."

Insert foot slowly.

no not slowly I just jammed it in. so much for listening to schilling in his interviews. gonna be fun to see his repsonse to wacko Damon's statement about how it is unfair that schilling is going to be the closer and not timlin.

Do those of you who live in NESN's home area get the replays of the Red Sox games? I used to get Bruins replays as part of the NHL Center Ice package, and it was great, since those games start at 6:00 in my time zone and I'd rather watch them later. Now, a year and a half later, I have the MLB package and don't get any replays at all. My theory, as posted elsewhere, is that Crooked Rupert wants sports fans to watch nothing but the horrid Fox Sports Network, thus blacking out anything he can get away with blacking out so it doesn't compete with The Worst Freaking Show on Television, Period.

I emailed both D* and NESN within the last week and this is how it went:

Subject: NESN-HD

Details: Will we ever be getting NESN-HD?

My zip is 06492 (Hartford-New Haven)

My cable company had it last year (Comcast), I would REALLY REALLY love to be able to see my Red Sox in HD.

I am begging!

Dear Mark,

Thanks for writing. I'm sorry, but we don't carry NESN in HD right now. However, we often add programming based on customer requests, and we have forwarded your request to our programming department. Be sure and stay tuned to DIRECTV.com for the latest news and information about our service.

This makes no sense to me. I live in Rhode Island and wanted to watch as many Sox games in HI-DEF. Since Directv won't offer NESN-HD I can only get the Games on ESPN_HD or the Saturday Fox games. But When ESPN-HD does Wensday night Baseball, Directv Blacks out ESPN-HD, which I pay an extra $11 a month for and only lets me see the Standard NESN Broadcast! :confused:Anyone know if NESN-HD will ever be available?
