Are you talking about a standalone DVD burner that would be in a video center or a desktop DVD burner? Just wondering about the inputs?

Any DVD recorder /player you could hook the composite cables and audio cables up, but my samsung DVD recorder will only burn @ 480i (model from 2005)

Assuming we're not talking about some DVD burner associated with a computer, are there any DVD burners/players that will accept a component input? And if so, what kind of resolution are we talking about (480p or 480i)?

I haven't seen any with component input but that doesn't mean there aren't any. My video filters will take component and pass it to the DVD recorder but it will still only record at 480i. If you have an upscaling DVD player they can look OK on a big screen depending on how picky you are. I have 5 recorders and they all record at the same quality The $99 Magnavox at Walmart works just fine but doesn't have an LCD window to show elapsed elapsed time. But it does have multiple recording times 2, 2.5, 3 hr recording speeds. My Toshiba goes from 2 hr to 4 hr with none in between. You don't want to record at 4 hrs because the PQ will be bad.

Yeah, I've got a DVD burner connected through component I believe, and sadly I've only used it a couple of times to burn shows to DVD. I have a ton of movies saved to my box, but just been too lazy to burn..LOL
