Dumb question for other Vizio owners?

Hi
I took the Sanyo 19 back..got tired of fiddling with all the different aspect ratios..I like My Vizio VA19 L better but I have one dumb question....the word Vizio on front of the TV is the power indicator and it's always lit up white when the set is on..Is there a way to turn it off?...Or do you get used to it.?.Thought about covering it with electrical tape but don't want to mess up the finish...Heck maybe I'll get used to it so that's why i'm asking other owners...I find it sort of distracting..lol

My 42" is the same way and I haven't found a way to turn it off after owning it 2 months or so.

yeah whtie on orange off, it doesn't bother me but I guess if you want to get creative you could dismantle the frame and remove the bulb.

I wonder how distracting it is in a totally dark room? It would be nice if Vizio would put an option in the menu to turn it off. I was watching Parks and Recreation the other night, and I'm pretty sure Rashida Jones' character has a Vizio in her living room. I could see a white lighted logo under the screen. I couldn't see the brand clearly though since I'm using a standard def set. :p

I tried to figure out how to turn it off the first day I owned it without success and I concluded then I would likely place a piece of shiny black electrical tape over it, but I never have done that. It doesn't bother me at all, even in a dark room.

I don't find it annoying at all. Sony and Samsung have it on their sets as well.

Plus, you can put any spare change in it, and use it for a Xmas fund later. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t171/JohnS45/thumbs.gif

I don't have a problem with mine, even though we watch in near darkness most of the time in the bedroom.

That got on my nerves too as I found it to be useless, so I put electrical tape on it.

It would drive me nuts so IF I bought Vizio I would go the electrical tape route also.

It isn't bright and the light from most Blu-ray or HD DVD players front displays is much greater. If someone has components with lighted displays below or sitting close beside the display, it probably isn't going to bother them further to have this additional light. I have my Vizio in the secondary system with components close by and I focus on the screen ignoring all of the lighted distractions around it.

actually, I kind of like it, it helps draw your attention/focus to the center of the screen, thus making the the screen to "appear" to be wider. it's called feng shui

My components are over a foot under the screen, so I think that is much less noticeable than a big white Vizio light an inch from the bottom of the screen, but since I have not owned a Vizio I cannot say for sure how distracting it would be, but they had it in a hotel room I stayed in and it bothered me that night. Who knows, maybe i would get use to it and learn how to block it out, but that night it bothered me.

I don't mind the vizio logo on my set, what I hate is all the pop ups and ads on the screen when u are trying to watch a program.
Don't need to see a ad for the next show coming up. It's bad enough we have to look at the channel logo on our nice HDTV's
sorry for the rant :)
