As most of you know, there are now 2 ways to watch a 1080P movie on Direct TV...

1. video on demand, which I dont have yet...

2. on remote, hit list then the green button and then pick top movies and you will see a list of approximately 10 movies that have been downloaded onto your machine and are just waiting for you to watch them...

I watched "Twilight" on my 40 inch Sony 1080P in my bedroom sitting about 10 feet from the screen, and was blown A W A Y !!!

Anybody else?

Man, I gotta tell you, if that's the most wonderful experience you ever had, that is really sad.

I too am very curious as to the perception of this "New" service.

It is still just Dolby Digital 5.1 audio right?

Went there and looked at the list of movies. My Sony is 1080P, but not the 24 fps model.

So, if I clicked on one of these movies, could I watch it in 1080i format? Also, IF I were to click on one of these movies, do I go to another page to "firm" up the buy or is this one click shopping.

When I had DTV about 4 years ago, if I wanted to watch a PPV movie I would get at least one chance to "back out" of the movie if I didn't want to watch it. Also, back then, there was a 2 minute preview. Is that option also still available?

I watched the James Bond movie and sound was very bad but pic is terrific.

I would not watch again as there are no closed captions and even my wife with very good hearing said the sound was next to unusable.
