Hey guys I'm really considering these two tvs. The first one should be @ my local Sam's by the end of June/early July and is 240hz and LED. The Samsung is 120hz and is LCD. The 52" Samsung is priced @ $1999 and the 55" Vizio is priced $1799-1999. I don't know if I just buy the 52" Samsung right now, or wait the month or two and go with a Vizio? What are your thoughts? Do you think the Vizio will be better than this Samsung?

This damn thing won't let me post links to the specs for both tv.

i'm going to have to say WAIT. the new vizio should have great specs, and I personally can't wait to see what kind of reviews it gets.
Heard it has 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, it's back lit (won't distort near the edges), also it's 240hz scenes per second

you hear anything else?

Love my new Samsung. Lots more bank for the buck. It will not be sitting next to the Vizio in your home, so you will be happy even if there is a difference. Compare prices on frys.com and amazon.com. They usually have free nationwide delivery.

Just an FYI. They are BOTH LCDs, but the Visio is LED backlit while the Samsung is florescent backlit. LED is preferred since it gives much better black levels and more accurate colors generally.

That being said, I think Samsung makes the best LCDs right now, but the Vizio will likely look better overall since it is an LED backlit model and the Samsung is not. We will not know for sure until it is out and available to compare though.

So i would wait if you can and see with your own eyes which looks better if you can be patient.

Hope this helps & welcome to the forum! :hithere:

from what I've seen in the previews at engadget and other sites, looks like the same tv as the current 55"?
but are not the LED's much thinner?
We are just furnishing our winter house in FL, watching an old Olevia 32in, was going to buy the current Vizio 55in, but will now wait patiently for the LED.
I'm guessing it'll be 14 or 1599 at Sams by Thanksgiving? if the last 55in is any clue.

Just Bought the 55" Vizio Led 240hz and you will not be disappointed and the with it being 240 hz the fast action scenes in movies and PS3 games have virtually no blur. Plus its a lot cheaper
