Sharp LC-42D65U Settings (my own)

I thought I'd share my settings for what it's worth to anyone who is looking for some suggestions for this LCD. I searched everywhere for settings online but could not find any so I ordered the DVE: HD Basics Blu Ray from Amazon and spent a few hours tweaking the panel. The end result is pretty fantastic so I thought I'd share.

Picture mode: Movie

Backlight: Set to liking, depending on light in room.
Contrast: 31
Brightness: -2
Color: 7
Tint: 2
Sharpness: 0

Advanced settings:

Hue: Only 2 adjustments.. Yellow set to 1 and Cyan set to -2.

Red: -15
Yellow: 18
Green: -7
Cyan: -30
Blue: -13
Magenta: -8

Color Temp: Mid-Low

White balance: Red Gain at 3, Green Gain at 0 and Blue Gain set at -3.

So I know that settings will vary according to a number of factors but this might help get a few sets out there in the right ballpark. I highly recommend actually getting the Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics Blu Ray though for this set though as there is a big jump in picture quality when properly calibrated.

I just purchase this today and the factory settings are just plain horrible. The picture quality of the display TV in Best Buy was better than the factory settings which kind of tells you how bad the factory settings are. Will try your settings. Much appreciate the post my friend.
