I've been looking at this TV for a bit now. It's refurbished / factory renewed or whatever, but as long as it is in good condition I won't mind I don't think. I'm wondering what you guys think about it.

I've also been looking at this LCD:

Both are in my price range, though I'd rather spend close to $500 and free up some pocket money for other things I'd like to do. This LCD will do 720p though, I believe and the CRT will not. Right?

Yes the LCD is 720p/60 native, while the CRT is 1080i/30. The LCD is progressive scan with twice the framerate.
