I decided to do something I rarely do anymore...go in person and look at the latest and best pictured tv sets.

I went to Best Buy a few nights ago.Their television department is one of best looking around.I felt like I was in the Disneyland of tv.

I went to the WLA Best Buy.

The Plasma HDTV's blew me away! The tube HDTV's did not.But I would'nt buy a plasma since they have Burn In.Though I heard that they are coming out with new plasma's that don't have burn in. Hmm

I fell in love with the LCD HDTV'S...I plan to buy one. Samsung makes a 32 inch LCD HDTV that has a fantastic picture.Sharps LCD models did'nt look as good next to the samsungs.I looked at different Samsung LCD HDTV models and sharps too.

I might buy the 40 inch LCD HDTV Samsung coming out soon.I think it goes for $3,600.

Do they have the viewing rooms? Our BB has some small rooms where the lights are dimmed and you can select the monitor you want to watch.

Make sure that LCD has good picture when viewed from side angles, and that you are happy with the black levels. We have LCD's of all different sizes where I work, and so many of them have terrible black levels and are much too blurry for sports or action movies. Some are better than others for viewing angle, but I'm still not impressed with most LCD's.

Also, dont screw yourself with an LCD that has a 720p native resolution. Dont forget HD-DVD will soon be upon us with 1080i picture.

HD-DVD will support 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p...

Virtually all LCDs, from 15 to 40", are 720p native. They will work fine for HD-DVD, Xbox360, etc. 1080p native sets are only found in the larger sizes, 37" and up... All LCDs are progressive...
