Hi,
I was planning on buying this particular Panasonic LCD rear projection TV.
I have read a lot of bad reviews on the durability of the projection Lamps. please advise me if it would be a bad decision on my part to buy this TV.
Thanks in Advance.

Except for CRT based sets, all RPTVs use similar bulbs... with a viewing life of about 8000 hours.

I also was checking out that particular LCD RP. I heard the samething from several reviews that the lamplife is not long for that model.. I been in Circuit City and Bestbuy and noticed a large price drop. I also been looking a online wholesalers, and the samething. I am not looking at that model anymore and considering waiting until newer models are released out....When the Sony "E" Series releases... alot of the other sonys will be very cheap..

I decided on buying a Sony 50' LCD TV. Panasonic seems too expensive to maintain even if the price is lower by 200 -400 bucks.

400$ is enough to replace 2 lamps of 8000 hrs av. each.

Sure it will give 1 or 2 lamps but what a head ache. Lamp Ballast is prone for problems on this model which can ost another 600 to 800.
