Vizio VA26L Problems

Hi. I just purchased a Vizio VA26L 26" HDTV. The TV portion of it is great, but I can't seem to use it as a monitor. I have a 15' DVI - HDMI cable, and that's attached to a 50' HDMI cable, and that's attached to a 10' HDMI cable which is attached to the TV.

The TV says it's getting no signal, and I have tried adjusting the computer to the correct resolution to no avail. I'm not sure what's going on. Any thoughts? I main just want to clone my computer screen so I can watch movies on the computer that will also show on the TV.

I think 75' spread over 3 cables might be your problem. Just to try it, temporarily move them closer, and use the 10' or 15' cable. There might also be a problem with the DVI/HDMI connection.

You may have to get into your computer and specify DVI as an output. Assuming the TV has a VGA input, have you tried that route?

I know the DVI out works. I had the DVI out going to a VGA plug which plugged into a converter box which went to my TV via coaxial cable. I'm replacing that now with the HDMI cable.

I have not tried the HDMI to VGA route yet. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible, but it seems VGA may work. Does RGB have just as much quality? I can't get more than 1360x768 anyway, right?

I will try moving the TV in here by the monitor and trying it that way. If that works, it means I need a signal booster on the line. That's not cool.....

Yep, it was the long run of cable that was the problem. I'll get a signal booster. Now the problem is the bleeding edges. The screen looks good except that on each edge there are a few millimeters cut off. Anyone know how to fix that? I'm trying to get it to zoom out with different programs, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?
