I just bought the Sharp 52 in D65U. I need help on how to calibrate it. Does anyone have the correct settings? I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Welcome to the forum! :hithere:

Your best bet is to get a calibration DVD to calibrate it for your environment. Just search at www.amazon.com for either a DVE or AVIA calibration disc. Here are links:

For DVE (pick which version you want, but note that the HD DVD version is only if you have a Toshiba HD DVD player:

AVIA:

Well you said "any help" so here is mine.

I am waiting for my DVE but in the meantime I'm quite happy with the settings I have for my 42D65U. For HD, I have found I get the best realistic picture with this:

Backlight: somewhere between 0 and 9 is where I have it depending on how bright the room is at the time.
Contrast: 36, Brightness: 1, Color: -9, Tint: -7, Sharpness: 0,

Advanced settings: Hue and saturation all at 0 (don't trust my eyes to mess with those yet), color temp: not the lowest but the second one, active contrast: off, for HD nothing else is really available but I leave those off for SD programming and have the IP set to slow.

Hope this helps you get in an acceptable ballpark.
